The Liga chief does not think that there will be trouble because of Catalan nationalism at the Miami game

Javier Tebas, La Liga president, spoke about Girona v Barcelona in Miami and said that it would not be a platform for people who want Catalan independence.

"Barcelona fans in the United States are no interested in independence, it's a topic in which they aren't involved. Barca fans from the USA will go to that game," said Tebas on Onda Cero.

"We don't believe in a fire where there isn't one. La Liga, the USA, the organisers, Barca and Girona, we all want that it's a football feast, not a political event. And we will work in that line."

Tebas said a USA game each season is not necessary.

"There's no obligation to play a game a year in the USA. The two parts will make the biggest effort possible and that's what we are doing, but we are not bound to go. It's not obligatory the clubs go, it's voluntary and those who go are the ones who want to go to the USA."
