The tears of Fermin Lopez after red card

| sport

Fermín López was one of the sensations during Barcelona's tour of the United States. He impressed Xavi and has, for now, stayed with the first team, making his debut a couple of weeks ago against Villarreal and signing a new contract with the club until 2028.

During the international break, Fermín requested to play with the reserve team. Xavi agreed, and the Andalusian made his debut for Rafa Márquez's reserve side against Nàstic in Tarragona. However, his match did not have a good ending as he was sent off early in the second half with two yellow cards.

The Barcelona team ended up losing in injury time, and Fermín was in tears in the locker room. "Fermín was crying after the match; he felt really bad because he wanted to help the team," explained Marc Casadó after the game.

Fermín was sent off by Ortega Herrera, who was in a very strict mood. He had received a yellow card for dissent in the first half, and the referee showed him a second yellow card in the 47th minute for a foul on a Nàstic player near the penalty area. The second yellow card was heavily protested, but Ortega Herrera did not change his decision.
