Sources at FC Barcelona have told SPORT that the Nice forward Hatem Ben Arfa is not in Barcelona at the moment to negotiate a summer move to the club when his contract ends in June.
French newspaper L’Equipe reported on Monday that Ben Arfa had flown to the Catalan capital to visit the club. He was spotted at an airport in Paris boarding a Vueling flight.
Ben Arfa said after Nice’s game against Guingamp at the weekend that he would not think about his future until after the final game of the season.
Despite that, it’s clear that his preference is to sign for Barcelona, although he has also been linked with a move to Premier League side Chelsea.
Sources at Barça have denied a meeting with the 29-year-old is taking place on Monday, though, although it’s clear he remains one of the names on the club’s agenda this summer.
