The young forward signed for Spartak in 2019 and has been capped by Sweden three times

On the 29th August 2004, Henrik Larsson made his debut for Barça and left his mark at the club over the next two seasons.

On that day, a seven-year-old Jordan Larsson was striking the ball and showing his great pace and excellent technical skills. Jordan was born in 1997 in Rotterdam whilst his father played for Feyenoord. He opted for Sweden over Holland and has three caps for the senior national side.

This Friday, Henrik Larsson was confirmed as a member of Ronald Koeman's coaching staff at FC Barcelona.

His son Jordan is 23 now and after impressing at Norrköpin, he signed for Spartak Moscow in 2019. The Russian club is owned by multimillionaire Leonid Fedun and paid €4m for the young forward. He's scored 11 goals in 33 matches in the Russian league.

What's curious is that Spartak heard of the rumour linking Henrik with Barça and released a statement of their own to 'sports.ru'.

"We can guess who Barça's next big objective will be (Jordan Larsson) but he's a very important player for us," the statement read.

"Prepare €100m to sign him or there's no point talking with us."

It's hard not to take these comments as humorous and light-hearted as Spartak look to regain their place as one of the best teams in Russia.

Whilst Jordan might possess some of the qualities Barça need right now, there's nothing to suggest a move to reunite father and son is on the cards. Ronald Koeman has other more pressing concerns right now.
