The Atletico Madrid coach has never led his side to victory at Barça's stadium

Diego Simeone says there's a first time for everything as he hopes to break his Camp Nou duck as Atletico Madrid coach this weekend.

Atletico have never won away against Barcelona with Simeone in charge and head to Catalonia this weekend knowing that a win will leave them three wins away from the title.

"There's always a first time for everything in life," El Cholo said when his record at Camp Nou was pointed out to him.

While he's never led Atletico to victory in Les Corts, he did achieve a 1-1 draw there in 2014 which meant Atletico won La Liga and Barça finished second.

However, despite memories of that success fairly recent in the grand scheme of things, Simeone says the circumstances are completely different this time.

He said: "The season was at its end then and both teams went into a game where one would be champion. This time, there are still a lot of points at stake. Honestly, there's no comparison.

"We'll face a team [Barca] who have recovered a lot of points and are having a good second half of the season, with a great job from their coach to sort out what had happened in the first half [of the campaign].

"We'll have to take the game to places where we think we can hurt them."

Atletico have 76 points with four games to go, followed by Barça and Madrid with 74 each. Sevilla have 70. Real Madrid boast the head-to-head advantage against Atletico and Barça.
