Oscar Arias admits it would not be easy but "we never know" what will happen

Aleix Vidal spent two years at Sevilla before signing for Barcelona in 2015

Sevilla's sporting director, Oscar Arias, has referred to the club's interest in re-signing Aleix Vidal, who is not getting regular football under Ernesto Valverde.

Sevilla are looking to strengthen in January and have been linked with a move for Vidal, who played at the Sanchez Pizjuan between 2013 and 2015.

"We're completely on top of the market," Arias told Radio Marca. "[Vidal's] name has been coming up continuously since he left. It's not easy an return in terms of numbers, but we don't know what could happen."

At the moment, Sevilla have their first team squad at its 25-man limit, so will have to look to move players on before signing. Those most likely to leave are Walter Montoya and Borja Lasso, who aren't playing under Eduardo Berizzo.

"The winter transfer market it a difficult one, it's very restrictive," Arias added. "In summer, it's more open, in the middle of competitions, though, clubs are more reluctant to sell players. If we have interest in a player, we will move as soon as possible, but it's not easy."
