The RFEF and LFP are willing to allow, for this season only, the Spanish Supercup to be one-off match instead of the traditional two-legged tie

Sevilla will accept Barcelona's request for the Spanish Supercup, presently scheduled to be played on the 5th and 12th of August, to be a one-off match on the condition that it's played at their home: the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan stadium. This is according to EFE via sources from the Sevillian club.

Due to Barcelona's preseason obligations, Barcelona have rejected the original dates released for the Spanish Supercup. The LFP and RFEF have both agreed to reduce the match to one-off contest to take place on the 12th August.

The conflict that Barcelona has with the dates is due to it clashing with their North American tour. Sevilla's issues stem from the fact they need to enter the earlier rounds of the Europa League qualifying campaign after failing to finish in the top seven last season. The first of those qualifying matches take place on the 26th July and the 2nd August.

Sevilla claim that they've needed to remodel their fixture list because of the qualifying rounds for the Europa League and now need to do that even more to suit Barcelona's interests. For this reason they are asking for the one-off match to take place in their home stadium.

It appears unlikely that Barcelona, who will have difficulties picking a strong squad following the late arrivals from those involved at the World Cup, would agree to play the match at a non-neutral ground.

Sevilla are in the Spanish Supercup after losing the Copa del Rey final 5-0 to Barcelona.
