Valverde's opted for three changes from the midweek draw against Lyon
Barcelona can take huge strides towards retaining the La Liga title if they win their next two games against Sevilla and Real Madrid.
First up is Sevilla on Saturday and the big news is that Samuel Umtiti retuns to the team following months out with a knee problem.
The French defender hasn't played since November but comes into the team in place of Clement Lenglet to partner Gerard Pique.
Elsewhere, there are two other changes from Tuesday's stalemate against Lyon.
Philippe Coutinho replaces Ousmane Dembele in attack alongside Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi.
Behind the front three, Arturo Vidal comes in for Sergi Roberto with Nelson Semedo keeping his place at right-back.
