Sevilla sporting director Monchi enquires over Rafinha's availability

Sevilla are in the process of a speculative attempt to convince Barcelona midfielder Rafinha to leave the Camp Nou.

Sporting director Monchi has contacted Mazinho, the father and adviser of the Brazilian, to outline how signing for Los Nervionenses would be a great opportunity for the player and the increased amount of game time he would be afforded.

The arrivals and departures at the Estadio Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan are never-ending, as Jorge Sampaoli continues to mould a team that has suffered numerous highs and lows in seasons gone by.

These demands have led Monchi to explore the possibility of signing Rafinha and the 23-year-old himself has revealed that he hasn't ruled out leaving the Camp Nou this summer.

Relations between Sevilla and Barça are positive and that good relationship has helped facilitate the transfer of players between the clubs in recent years.

However, it seems very unlikely that Rafinha will sign for Sevilla before the transfer window deadline passes on Wednesday.
