Sevilla await Koundé in Seoul to decide the player's future
The French centre-back is the only international who has yet to join the Andalusian team's training camp in the South Korean capital
Resolving Jules Koundé's future is essential for Sevilla. The Nervión club needs to transfer the French centre-back to undertake the desired signings and strengthen their squad this summer. The Andalusian team is not in a hurry and Monchi has already remarked that "we will not rush in making decisions", however they still do not want to let the case to stagnate.
And even more so after Chelsea, one of the defender's suitors has turned the page and looked beyond him with the unofficial signing of Kalidou Koulibaly and their recent interest in Presnel Kimpembe. Right now, Koundé is the only international who has yet to join Sevilla's training camp in the South Korean capital, Seoul, where the rest of Julen Lopetegui's team is currently staying. President José Castro is also expected to join the expedition in the coming hours.
It is unknown when, or, if at all, the French defender, who after the June window of the UEFA Nations League had to undergo surgery to correct some long-standing pubic problems, will join the expedition. The latest information on Koundé suggests that the 23-year-old has taken advantage of the summer to see specialist Fabrice Gautier in Beverly Hills. He wants to start his new professional stage in the best possible physical shape, and this is why he has had little time to rest before the 2022/23 season. FC Barcelona, meanwhile, remain on standby and has yet to make a move to sign him and shore up Xavi's team's defensive line.
