Setién: "What's said is one thing, but what happens on the pitch is another"

FC Barcelona coach, Quique Setien, refused to be drawn into a war of words with Bayern Munich after a flood of declarations were made by the Germans over the last few days.

"Motivation is an intricate part of these matches," Setien said. "One thing is what's said and another is what happens on the pitch: it'll be a very even match."

Setien also confirmed that he could switch his system and revert to four central midfielders. "It's true that we've proposed a lot of things but maybe the shape isn't that important. We know the talent and speed our rival possess."

"There's a lot of things which concern us about Bayern because they are a very complete team. They send a lot of people forward and pressure well. But one thing we know well is how to deal with the pressure and cause them problems of our own."

"If you have the ball, they can't hurt us. Everything depends on your efficiency. We saw in PSG's match yesterday, which was resolved at the end: for a long time the team who had less possession was winning the match."

On Messi, Setien has no doubts about depending on the Argentine star. "He's one of those players who can win you a match. I've always believed in the strength of the team. Although Messi is capable of creating his own goals but we must help and assist him. Like many players, Leo would be less effective without the strength of the team."
