Setien confirms Umtiti will travel to Bilbao late due to court appearance

The defender is in dispute over money owed for damages left at a previous home

The problems are mounting for Barcelona. The serious crisis between the dressing room and the sporting department has been added to by other issues that affect the team, like the court case Samuel Umtiti must attend on the day of the Athletic Bilbao game.

The France defender must be in person at court in Esplugues de Llobregat (Barcelona) on Thursday in a case relating to damages left at his former home. He's happy to pay a certain amount but believes his former landlord is trying to extort more from him solely because he's a footballer.

It means he will have to travel on his own to Bilbao and meet his teammates later in the day. Coach Quique Setien, though, played the situation down.

"It's a personal subject," Setien said on Wednesday. "Unexpected things can happen to anyone, but everything has a solution.

"You have to be positive in this life and look on the bright side of things. Sometimes problems appear and we have to solve them. It's a setback but it's not important and Umtiti will travel to Bilbao later, no problem."

In addition, Setien revealed that Pique missed training ahead of the Copa del Rey quarterfinal in Bilbao with a fever. But it won't affect his involvement at San Mames.

"I don't think it's anything serious," Setien added. "We will see how he's doing tomorrow, but we've included him in the squad for the game."
