The midfielder says he won't change his mind and is walking away

Sergio Busquets gave an interview to Catalunya Ràdio's Tot Costa programme on Monday and confirmed that, after announcing that he will leave FC Barcelona, there is no turning back despite the fact that teammates, friends and fans have asked him to reconsider his decision.

"They told me to do a 'Mateu Alemany', but no... I am a person of my word. I've felt supported since I made the announcement and even the president told me to decide for myself, that I deserved it and I had earned it," Busquets said at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper.

The Barça captain has also said he is leaving now because "I wanted to leave playing, being important, winning titles. And the timing was perfect. Besides, the last two years had been very hard. They didn't go in the best way, to be honest. Besides, I was looking forward to a family adventure".

On his future, Busquets didn't want to say anything ahead of time because he still hasn't made a decision: "I don't know. I have three or four options that I'm evaluating and in two or three weeks I hope to have a destination and get organised".

Busquets, who has played 722 official games in the FC Barcelona shirt, is considering offers from the United States, Arabia and other parts of the world, but he commented that "I won't compete against Barça. I will play outside Europe. It is not necessary to play against Barça. Besides, I don't know if I could fight against Barça for an important title".
