The midfielder picked up his fifth booking of the season at Girona on Sunday
Sergio Busquets will miss Barcelona's next La Liga game against Valencia at Camp Nou on Feb. 2 -- the reason being the midfielder picked up his fifth booking of the season against Girona at Montilivi.
Busquets saw yellow in the 44th minute of Barça's 2-0 win when he clearly fouled Álex Granell in front of referee Pablo González Fuertes on the halfway line.
As it was his fifth caution this season in Spain's top flight, it comes with an automatic one-game ban. Busquets was also booked against Athletic in week seven (1-1), Betis in week 12 (3-4), Atletico the week after (1-1) and against Leganés last week (3-1).
The suspension means he will amost certainly start on Wednesday against Sevilla. Barça must come from 2-0 down in the Copa del Rey quarterfinal tie to make the last four.
