Injury has ruined his loan spell in the Canaries

The midfielder is now back in Barcelona

Sergi Samper's spell as a Las Palmas player has come to an end. The Catalan midfielder has not had much luck in the Canaries, where he was spending the year on loan from Barcelona.

Since signing for UD Las Palmas last summer, Samper has had injury after injury. No sooner had he arrived and he was unable to play under the coach at the time, Marquez, due to an injury. After recovering and entering into the next coach Ayestaran's plans and then looking like becoming an important player under new coach Paco Jemez, he suffered another injury.

After undergoing surgery, he will be out for four months. And on Wednesday, Las Palmas and Barça reached an agreement to end the loan deal. The player, though, had already said goodbye to the club's supporters when he was initially injured on Jan. 15.
