The La Masia graduate didn't play against Sevilla and won't be risked against Athletic on Tuesday either

"It's a shame, we didn't expect to lose him," is what Quique Setien said following the news of Sergi Roberto's injury. He hurt himself after falling awkwardly against Mallorca in the first game back. Setien asked him to play through the pain against Leganes but could only last until the 53rd minute.

The discomfort was so strong that he didn't travel with the squad to face Sevilla and has already been ruled out of the match against Athletic Club on Tuesday. Setien will give him as much time as he needs.

Yet there's a word of caution from the club's medical team. Any further damage could cause him to miss even more matches which, when they are coming so frequently, doesn't seem worth the risk. Roberto was in a lot of pain following the match against Leganes.

This allows Nelson Semedo another chance to establish himself at right back. With Yuri unavailable for the visitors, it should allow the Portuguese international the opportunity to get further up the pitch.
