Sergi Roberto captains Barcelona in Pasadena
The Reus born midfielder took charge of the first game of the pre-season against Tottenham
Sergi Roberto is the sort of player that any team would like to have. A useful man for Ernesto Valverde because of his versatility and quality, against Tottenham he played in the holding role, taking Sergio Busquets' position and accompanying Arthur on his debut. Not only that but he was also the captain.
Roberto brought the ball out well in a good first half, with very few errors in his passing and being a good teacher for Arthur, who scored on his debut. The first goal came from Roberto's cross to Rafinha, which Munir ended up converting.
Although he has largely been used as a right-back in recent times, Roberto is a midfielder and can add quality there. With Nelson Semedo doing well he might get the chance to return there, especialy given the dififculty of securing Rabiot and De Jong.
