Saudi Arabia sound out a move for Barcelona's Ansu Fati next season

The forward is currently on loan at Brighton from Barça's but his long-term future is uncertain

Any change involves a period of adaptation, but Ansu Fati's start to the season at Brighton has not been as positive as it could be. The player moved with the aim of making a return to Barcelona next summer, although he will need to raise his level to do so. In the midst of the uncertainty, Saudi Arabia has stepped in, determined to try and sign the striker for next season.

SPORT have learned that the Middle Eastern country have already made the first moves to convey their interest to the player's entourage. There have been several informal conversations and in the inner circle of the player there are those who are open to the possibility of Saudi Arabia. However, Ansu sees a move of this magnitude as a distant prospect. At least at the moment. It is only October and things change quickly in football.

With a contract with Barça until 2027, Fati has been losing market value in recent times. And in his camp, there are those who do not see with bad eyes the possibility of signing a lucrative contract in Saudi Arabia before the striker's cache continues to fall. The impressive financial investment by Saudi Arabian clubs next summer will be even greater than in 2023. And Fati is one of the targets.

Barça watching on

So far this season, Ansu has made 10 appearances for Brighton, scoring one goal in a total of 364 minutes. The striker's proven quality means that expectations are high for him, which is why Fati is expected to make a step forward during the course of the season.

For their part, Barça are not being blunt when it comes to assessing his situation. They believe it is still too early to talk about next summer and stress that the player has plenty of talent to be important in De Zerbi's squad.
