Saudi Arabia knocking on Joao Felix’s door

Saudi Arabia knocking on Joao Felix’s door

| sport

Joao Felix is one of the players on the agenda of FC Barcelona's sports management to reinforce their squad for the new season. In an interview with journalist Fabrizio Romano, the Portuguese striker had no qualms about expressing his desire to join the Blaugrana this summer, despite having a contract with Atlético until June 2027.

But now it has been Romano himself who has revealed a proposal from Al-Hilal to take Joao Felix to the Saudi Arabian League. The Riyadh-based side would take on the striker's contract on loan for one season and that is the proposal they will present to try to convince Atletico.

Al-Hilal coach Jorge Jesus has called his compatriot on several occasions to try to convince him to become the cherry on top of a project that has already brought in Kalidou Koulibly, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, Ruben Neves and Malcom this summer. The ball is now in the footballer's court.

Joao Felix is not in the plans of Atletico's coach Diego Pablo Simeone and Atletico are happy to negotiate his departure, as they did in the winter transfer window, when he was loaned out to Chelsea.

The Portuguese striker is still determined to continue in European football and his dream is still to sign for Barça, but he will not outright close the door before analysing Al-Hilal's proposal to play a season in Saudi football.
