Rodrygo admits he's proud that the Catalan club are after him

Young Santos striker Rodrygo is honoured by Barcelona's interest. The 17-year-old is one of the upcoming stars of Brazilian football and Barça are looking to tie him down. For now, though, he is focused on doing well for Santos.

In an interview with ESPN Brasil, the Santos man said he has other objectives before a possible move to Camp Nou.

"I always respond by saying that I am calm in regards to these matters, to stuff in the press," he said. "I feel proud of the interest that there is, as it's recognition of the work I am doing."

Rodrygo continued: "However, now I am only thinking about staying at Santos. I want to make history with Santos before I leave here."

His immediate aim, therefore, is to help Santos move up the table. They currently find themselves just above the drop zone in the Brasileño.

Barça made the first offer of 30 million euros for the teenager last week, which Santos didn't accept. They don't want to continue with talks, aware that there are many teams interested in the teenage star.
