Samuel Umtiti injury: Set to miss clash with Malaga

The French centre-back will not play against Sweden and is also likely to miss Barcelona's clash with Malaga

Samuel Umtiti has suffered a hamstring elongation and will not play for France during this international break and is also almost certain not to feature for Barcelona against Malaga on Saturday November 19.

The centre-back has been one of Barcelona's best performers this season and the club will be hoping his injury is not too serious. He has been replaced in the squad by Valencia's Eliaquim Mangala.

In terms of Barcelona, with Mathieu and Pique out already the club will hope he is not taking any risks - they only had Umtiti and Mascherano left as centre-back cover.

The former Lyon man may in fact leave the France squad and link up with Barcelona again to recover better, with the aim being to be back in action for the trip to Celtic in the Champions League.
