Samuel Lino, the one that got away for Barcelona

The Brazilian left wing forward was of interest but they signed Abde instead

Samuel Lino is an unknown. He plays at Gil Vicente in Portugal and the previous technical secretary at Barcelona liked him for his potential. The 22 year old, a left wing forward, was spoken to this summer by Barcelona, who were interested in signing him.

The intention was that he would play for the B team and occasionally link up with the first team. However the deal did not happen with Barcelona lacking money and focusing their resources on Ez Abde instead, which has worked out so far.

Lino was still liked by Barcelona but Atletico Madrid have got in ahead now and agreed a deal with the Brazilian to sign him next summer. He will join their first team squad.

Lino is great with both feet, good beating players one on one and is a fine finisher. Top Portuguese teams wanted him too but he wanted to come to Spain and he will do now, with Atletico.
