Roures: The Camp Nou works will not be ready for 2024

Jaume Roures, who took part in Thursday's third debate on the State of the Barcelonista Nation, along with Víctor Font and Carles Vilarrubí, was very certain about the state of the Camp Nou renovation works, assuring that they will not be ready for next year, as planned by the club.

The founder of Mediapro assured that despite not working in the world of construction, he is convinced that the state of the works will not be enough to achieve the objective set by the board in November 2024, the date on which it was explained that Barça could return to play at the Camp Nou, with a reduced capacity.

In this sense, Roures has assured that for him it was a mistake to remodel the current stadium and he is in favour of building a new one. "It was viable and possible to build a new stadium in a new location, which would have been cheaper than the current remodelling," he said.

Doubts about the state of the works and the management of the Espai Barça have been among the 'hot' topics in the discussion, about which both Vilarrubí and Font were in agreement. "The ways of doing it and the moment were not the right ones. Solutions have been found, but in exchange for not seeing more income over the next 25 years at Barça", agreed the two protagonists.
