Ronaldo accuses Celta players of being incentivised vs. Madrid
"You, a lot of money! Maletin!" he said to Gustavo Cabral
Barcelona needed a favour from Celta to get back in the title race
Cristiano Ronaldo clashed with Gustavo Cabral during Real Madrid's win over Celta Vigo on Wednesday night at Balaidos (1-4).
According to 'Minuto #0' on Movistar, the incident ended with the Portuguese forward throwing certain accusations at the Celta players. According to television footage, Cristiano reportedly said: "You, a lot of money! Maletin!"
Maletin is the Spanish word for briefcase and refers to the idea that teams or players have been paid by a third party to win a game.
In the images you can see Ronaldo making the gesture of a briefcase, accusing the Celta players of being incentivised to go the extra mile against Madrid with the promise of extra money.
As well as scoring two goals and helping Madrid move a step close to the title, Ronaldo was also let off of a yellow card for diving just moments after Iago Aspas had been booked and, subsequently, sent off for the same action.
With a numerical advantage, it allowed Madrid to close out the win without too many problems. On Sunday they travel to Malaga where a point will win them the tite. Barça, meanwhile, play Eibar at Camp Nou.
