Ronaldinho Gaucho is happy for his compatriot's move to France

He said he's Brazil's biggest idol right now because of his style

Ronaldinho said on Sunday in El Salvador that he hopes his compatriot Neymar continued "giving joy" to football from his new club, Paris Saint-Germain, despite the mannger of his Barcelona exit.

"May he keep enjoying himself and giving joy to those that like football, independent of the club he's at (...) I am happy for him," said the Brazilian at a news conference upon his arrival in the Central American country.

The 2002 World Cup runner highlighted that Neymar "is our biggest idol in Brazil" right now because "we love his style of play" -- the two possess similar characteristics.

Neymar, who joined PSG for 222 million euros, received a big welcome in the French capital this weekend before their opening Ligue 1 game against Amiens, a 2-0 win.

"I am happy, delighted with this new challenge. I will need your support," Neymar said to the fans at his presentation, adding that he had moved to the club "to make history."

Ronaldinho is in El Salvador to share his experience as a player with local children and communities where there's a high risk of violence.
