Ronald Koeman's message for Barça dressing room: We CAN win La Liga
The Dutch coach remains optimistic despite recent setbacks in all three competitions
Ronald Koeman doesn't give up. The Barcelona coach didn't hide that he felt "terrible" after the draw against Cadiz, but he's not focused on turning things around. Speaking ahead of Wednesday's game against Elche, he said his message for the players is a simple but clear one: "Podemos" ('We can win the title').
Koeman recongised a "lot is at stake" in a key moment of the season, so it's not time for Barça to feel sorry for themselves.
He said: "It's time for the team to recover pride and energy, above all those that have been here for many years. Recent results against PSG and Sevilla have done damage but we have to move forward. It's a moment when the captains and more experienced players have to create an atmosphere to go for everything."
For that reason, he's sent an optimistic message to his players: "I have told the team that we can (win the league) because no team is going to win everything. The distance is less than it was three weeks ago and depends on the upcoming games. There's hope and we have to go for everything."
