Ronald Koeman: We signed Memphis for this

Barca coach Ronald Koeman spoke after the 1-1 draw at Athletic Club and these are his key comments.

Result: We weren't calm in the first 20 minutes. Later we were better. We scored a goal and I don't know if it was a foul but we accept it. I have to highlight the team's attitude, above all after going behind. I think a draw is fair. Athletic were at a good level. Playing like they did, this will be a tough place to come. I am not unhappy with the result 

De Jong: He was important in the second half. He broke through the lines and in general was really good throughout the game.

Eric Garcia: It's true that we learned before the game about his grandad passing. He's a great professional and despite that he wanted to play ... it's a shame about losing the ball and (the red card) in the last minute. I think it's a second yellow, but we're happy with him and wish him the best in his personal situation.

 

Memphis: He’s a great player, that's why we signed him. I spent time with him when I was at the national team. Not a surprise for me that in little time he's shown his quality. Scored a great goal, shame about the other chance for 2-1, but in little time he's got used to our way of playing. He’s a very important player because he's clinical, strong and quick in attack.
