Ronald Koeman to go full strength against Cadiz on Sunday

The coach sees an opportunity in La Liga with Atletico slipping up

Atletico Madrid’s slip up against Levante has changed the look of the league table. Ronald Koeman will send out his first team against Cadiz to try and cut the gap to six points. The Dutch coach will go with Dembele, Messi and Griezmann and hope the trident is at its best to face the Andalusian side. They also believe they can overturn Sevilla’s 2-0 lead in the Copa del Rey semi. The Champions League, though, they feel is impossible.

Ter Segen will play in goal, with Mingueza and Jordi Alba as the full backs. Pique and Lenglet in the middle. Busquets may be rested for Pjanic with De Jong and Pedri, untouchables, ahead of the pivot. Up front, the Dembele, Messi, Griezmann attack.

They may rotate later, against Elche on Feb 24 at Camp Nou. That day they want to be within three points of Atletico, albeit having played an extra game.

Koeman’s squad list is the same as for PSG at Camp Nou.

Ter Stegen, Neto, Iñaki Peña (GK), Dest, Piqué, Lenglet, Jordi Alba, Umtiti, Junior, Mingueza (DF), Busquets, Pjanic, Riqui Puig, Pedri, Matheus Fernandes, De Jong (MF), Griezmann, Braithwaite, Messi, Dembélé and Trincao (FW).

The game takes place at 2pm on Sunday at Camp Nou.
