The young defender started alongside Gerard Pique in defence and played the full 90 minutes against Girona

Ronald Araujo was the only Barça player to see out the full 90 minutes against Girona. After the 3-1 victory, the young defender spoke to TV3. "I'm very happy to have played so much and for the performance we gave. The result is secondary and what's important is we are playing well and the team is in a good moment ahead of the LaLiga season."

Playing out from the defence is something Ronald Koeman wants to bring back to Barça and Araujo is someone who slots perfectly into that system. "We need to change because teams are pressing us further up the pitch. We're adapting to new ideas in order to give the manager the best results."

Koeman, like Araujo, made his name as a defender and it's good to know what your coach expects from you. "He wants me to be calmer and I'm always trying to learn from Koeman. I'm working hard to be in the first-team picture. I gave everything for Barça B and it's clear that in the first team there are a lot of great defenders. But, I repeat, my objective is to keep working hard for a place (in the team)."
