Ronald Araujo, a step closer to sugery
The Uruguayan is making a tough decision about his injury
After speaking with Xavi Hernandez, his technical team and Dr Ricard Pruna, the head of Barcelona’s medical services, Ronald Araujo is looking at the idea of having surgery on his torn thigh muscle in a positive light.
He has not yet taken a definitive decision but will do soon, and right now it looks like he’s more likely to take surgery than the conservative treatment which would allow him to reach the World Cup but potentially leave him open to a relapse or making the injury worse.
Xavi and Pruna advised the 23 year old on the issue. He initially preferred the other option, to make it to the World Cup, but is changing his mind.
This afternoon Barcelona will announce the decision Araujo has made.
