Barça's VP for finance has been talking following Thursday's historic vote

The sale of merchandising and TV rights could pave the way for signings

Thursday's general assembly was a big step forward for Barcelona's board of directors and the club's immediate future as the palancas were passed (the sale of a stake in merchandising and television rights).

Now, the club have to move quickly to do those deals to have the financial muscle to be able to strengthen the squad this summer -- as fans (and Xavi Hernandez) want.

Vice president for finance Eduard Romeu has spoken to RAC1 on Friday.

“It was a necessary procedure," he said of the vote. "It takes a weight off but so far we have only managed to turn the traffic light green. We still have to finish the job."

Asked if the approval of the sales means Barça can now think about signing Robert Lewandowski, he added: "Today, we could sign Lewandwski as long as we apply the 1:3 rule LaLiga has.

"As were are in breach of LaLiga's fair play limits, if we are not capable of bringing in or saving three times what he could cost, it would not be possible."

Bayern agreement

Thus, there are still certain conditions (as is logical) to be able to execute the transfer of the Polish international. Beyond reaching an agreement with Bayern, of course, which will be complicated in itself.
