The Polish striker has played five times against Sevilla but has failed to score a goal against them.

You will only find one team that has faced Robert Lewandowski five times and not suffered from his goalscoring voracity: Sevilla.

The Polish striker, who has scored 513 goals during his long career in professional football, will have a good opportunity this weekend to open his account against one of the few opponents who have denied him.

His Borussia Dortmund drew in Seville (2-2) and lost in Germany (0-1), two poor results that condemned the 'schwarzgelben' to third place in the Europa League group stages 2010/11.

Several years later, Robert was able to redeem himself in the quarter-finals of the 2017/18 Champions League... and, although his Bayern eventually qualified thanks to the 1-2 at the Pizjuan and the 0-0 draw at the Allianz Arena in the return leg, he did not score.

In his last meeting against Sevilla, in the 2020/21 European Super Cup and also as a Bavarian player, Lewy did not score, but he did provide a decisive assist. His was the great pass to Leon Goretzka that allowed the Bochum midfielder to force extra time. In extra time, Javi Martinez gave Bayern the title.

This Saturday, Lewandowski will be Barça's attacking focal point in Nervión and will try to put an end to his drought.

He has four goals and two assists in his first three appearances in the blaugrana jersey.

Although he didn't need to, he has introduced himself to his new team and has shown that he is much more than a predator in the penalty area.
