Robert Lewandowski has a pact with Barcelona to wear the number nine shirt
The club have promised him he should have the number that he wore at Bayern Munich
Nobody doubts within Barcelona that Robert Lewandowski will wear the number nine shirt. It's the same number he's worn for seasons Bayern Munich. He's a striker who lives in the box, and is the spearhead of the team, a pure killer. At Barcelona they are conscious that they need to start commercialising his shirt. In fact the club have done the maths and think they can earn up to €20 million through sales. Lewandowskimania has hit Barcelona. Sport have learned that the Polish striker has a verbal pact with Barça to get the number nine. Last season Memphis Depay wore the shirt. He took it from Luis Suárez and before him, the likes of Samuel Eto'o and Ronaldo Nazario.
We will see at the weekend in Las Vegas when Barça play Real Madrid, if the club is able to move the number onto Lewandowski, or if Memphis insists on wearing it or whatever happens. However it doesn't make too much sense for him to do that because we know that in official competition next season it will belong to the Polish hitman.
