Robert Lewandowski: My era at Bayern Munich has ended

The Polish striker wants to come to Camp Nou this summer and will not extend in Bavaria

Robert Lewandowski was the protagonist of the day in Warsaw, when he arrived for the Nations League with the Polish national team. The Bayern Munich forward, wanted by Barcelona, was asked about his future by SPORT and he could not have been clearer. He wants to leave the Bundesliga side and join Xavi’s team.

“Am I optimistic about signing for Barca? It’s a good question, I don’t like being in this situation. What is sure for now is that my era at Bayern has ended. I see no possibility of continuing at that club,” Lewandowski told SPORT.

“Let’s see what we can do in the next two weeks. I don’t want to continue and I do want to focus on Poland. After the Nations League we will have time to talk about the situation, but I see no chance of continuing more at Bayern.”

He says the Bavarian club are “serious” and hopes that “they don’t keep me just because they can”.

He has 344 goals in 374 games with Bayern and is Barcelona’s big hope for a summer signing next season.
