The Brazilian is worried by Valverde's side's recent performances

Former Barcelona forward Rivaldo, now an ambassador for Betfair, has looked ahead to the Catalan side's Champions League game against Tottenham.

The Brazilian, worried by Barça's recent results, said: "We all know how good Messi is, but Barça have other great players in the team and to keep depending on Messi's goals and assists is damaging."

He added: "Barça need other players to be at the top of their game, and at the moment they are not."

After three games without a win in La Liga, Rivaldo believes "there are reasons to be worried. When you go three games without winning, the players and the coach share the responsibility for the lack of success."

He continued: "The team has to be careful, the Champions League is tougher than the Spanish league and if you're losing points [domestically], things could be worse in Europe."

And on the game against Tottenham, he said: "I don't see Barcelona as favourites. They're a strong team, but they have not won in three games and they're playing poorly."
