Riqui Puig trains with the first team ahead of the Catalan derby
The Barca B player enjoyed his debut on Wednesday and may get another chance
Riqui Puig was one of the protagonists in the training session Barca held on Friday ahead of Saturday's clash with Espanyol. The Barca B player, who performed well against Cultural Leonesa in the Copa del Rey, worked under Ernesto Valverde in the afternoon.
Luis Suarez and Arthur were also present and correct after returning from injury. Miranda and Inaki Pena, from the Barca B team also joined the session.
"I'm incapable of guessing the future waiting for him in the first team," Valverde said of Puig. "We have to wait to the end of the season to know that. It's good news that he came to play with the first team and that people are excited. Now he has to focus on Barca B and on having good games."
In his press conference, Valverde also said that Riqui can take Carles Alena as an example. "This kid was between the two teams and I'm sure he will have more chances in the same way that Alena is now in the first team," added Valverde.
