Memphis still not back in full Barça training with Atletico looming
Aubameyang has rescinded his contract with Arsenal, which ran until 2023, and for that reason he can sign for Barça as a free agent.
Therefore, Barça are still able to register him outside of the transfer window.
The Gabon international arrives for free and will sign for six months with the option to extend his contract by an additional year as the club finally land the striker Xavi wanted.
The first option was Alvaro Morata, but Atletico Madrid's reluctance to let him join a direct rival put the brakes on any potential deal, as well as the Ousmane Dembele situation making it difficult financially.
