Valladolid scored a vital three points against a below-par Barça side on Tuesday

LaLiga champions Barcelona suffered back-to-back league defeats as they were beaten 3-1 at Real Valladolid on Wednesday.

An Andreas Christensen own goal and a Cyle Larin penalty helped the hosts into a two-goal lead at the break.

Gonzalo Plata made it three in the 73rd minute before Robert Lewandowski pulled a goal back late on for Barca.

Valladolid move out of the bottom three with the win, leaving Getafe and Espanyol in big trouble with just three games to play.

"It is difficult to prepare for these games having already reached out objectives," Barça coach Xavi told DAZN.

"Valladolid are fighting to stay up. We tried but we made two mistakes in the first half and at 2-0 it's doubly hard.

"We still had four or five clear chances in the first half but we dipped in the second and it was a fair result."

Xavi made changes to his side, with Pablo Torres handed a first LaLiga start and Marcos Alonso coming in at centre-back.

However, all plans went out the window when Christensen headed into his own net in the second minute.

Things went from bad to worse in the 22nd minute when Larin scored from the spot after Eric Garcia had given a penalty away.

Barca had chances, especially in the first half, but former Blaugrana goalkeeper Jordi Masip was in good form, keeping out Raphinha and Christensen.

Plata added the third for Valladolid after the break after Garcia had played Larin onside, killing any remote chances of a Barca comeback.

The Blaugrana did score a consolation, though, with Xavi saying the only "positive" was Lewandowski's 23rd league goal of the season, taking him closer to the Pichichi award.
