The Spain U21 international has been linked with a move to the Catalan club

Barcelona are reportedly interested in one of Real Betis' most talented players, Rodri Sánchez, according to 'Más que pelotas'.

The sporting commission, now led by Deco, are interested in the attacking midfielder, who usually plays on the right flank and has a great left foot. The 23-year-old had a brief spell at La Masia when he was younger.

The Real Betis player arrived at the Barça's youth academy in 2014 from Espanyol. At La Masia, he coincided with Ansu Fati, although they played in different categories, which did not prevent them from being photographed together, as he showed a couple of years ago on 'Betis TV'.

In fact, it has been said he has a similar style to Leo Messi -- although not only Messi.

"Because of the way I play, I've always identified with Mesut Özil," Rodri said. "Fekir and Canales are two other incredible, magnificent players."

Contract 2026

This season, he has played in all four league games, although he has only started one of them, against Rayo Vallecano. The player is well-liked in the Barça offices but has a contract until 30 June 2026, so if Barça go for him next summer, they will have to negotiate with Betis.

The two clubs have a very good relationship, especially since the arrival of Ramon Planes as Betis' technical secretary. Abde, who signed this past summer with the Andalusians, is proof of this.
