Real Betis name La Masia back four to take on Barça at Montjuic
The whole visiting backline came through Barcelona's famous academy
Real Betis Balompié have named their line-up to face FC Barcelona in the fifth match of the LaLiga season with some big surprises.
In a squad full of former Barcelona players, two La Masia products in Sergi Altimira and Chadi Riad will be in the starting XI at Montjuic.
Summer signing Altimira has already made his debut with Betis against Rayo Vallecano as an injury time substitute, while Chadi Riad will make his debut in an official match with his new jersey.
Altimira played for Barça up to Juvenil B and earned a first-team place at CE Sabadell. Getafe signed him on a free transfer in the summer, but Betis paid his €1.5 million clause in August to take him.
For his part, Chadi Riad is on loan with an option for Betis to buy him for €3 million. Barça, for their part, could buy him back for €6 million. Chadi will make his debut with the Andalusian team, although he has already played in Primera Division as a Barça player against Osasuna.
La Masia back four
Three other former Barcelona players will start as well -- Bellerín, Bartra and Miranda -- therefore, five of the 11 Betis players have been trained in La Masia, while Abde is on the bench.
Interestingly, the whole Betis back four came through La Masia.
The Betis XI is made up of Rui Silva; Bellerín, Bartra, Chadi Riad, Miranda; Altirmira, Marc Roca, Isco; Luiz Henrique, Willian José and Ayoze.
