There’s a way for Raphinha to sign for Barcelona at relatively low cost.
Leeds United are not having their best season and they are fighting relegation. If they go down then Raphinha’s release clause will go from 75 million euros, which Barcelona cannot pay, down to 25 million euros. The door would be open then for them to sign the Brazil international.
The winger is liked by the sports direction and coach Xavi Hernandez.
As SPORT have revealed, Barcelona have made a 35m euro offer for the forward. They are expecting a positive response in the coming days. There is optimism on the part of Barcelona, with Mateu Alemany and Jordi Cruyff doing well in the transfer market in recent months.
Raphinha would take Ousmane Dembele’s place on the right wing because he seems set to leave at the end of the season when his contract is up.
Leeds have to decide whether to accept the 35m offer now or wait to see what happens and maybe lose him for less if they end up going down. They are currently 16th in the league with 29 points. Each game is suffering.
