Rakitic explodes: I don't want to stay in Barcelona for city walks and the beach

The midfielder also revealed Ronaldo called him to move to Juventus

Ivan Rakitic is going through one of his worst moments since joining Barcelona in 2014. The Croatian has gone from being a regular to hardly counting for coach Ernesto Valverde. So far, he has played 187 minutes in all competitions this season.

The midfielder was linked with an exit in the summer, he had offers to leave, but in the end nothing came of it. In an interview with Croatian media 24sata, he's admitted he had a proposal from Juventus and that Cristiano Ronaldo even called him to convince him to move to Italy. But Juve could not match Barça's asking price.

However, a lack of action could see things change in January. "I don't know what will come now," Rakitic said. "It's tough because I want to play and not just be part of the team. I will do everything possible to change my situation. I have two years left on my deal and there's no better place to play than Barcelona, the best club in the world, but I need to play and not just enjoy walks around the city and the beach."

Rakitic admitted he had conversations with president Bartomeu and captain Messi about his future: "I spoke with people at the club everyone knew I had other options. I want to fight so that the team see me ready to deliver on the pitch. I want to thank the fans for the affection they showed me this weekend, but if nothing changed, we will have to sit down and talk about my situation again."
