The midfielder will not play for Barça again during the current campaign

Doctors Cugat & Pruna performed surgery on his knee on Friday afternoon

The worst predictions have come true for Rafinha. The Barcelona midfielder has been ruled out for four months and will miss the rest of the season.

After undergoing surgery on Friday, the club confirmed that the Brazilian will not play again in the current campaign in a statement later on in the day.

It read: "At midday on Friday local time the first team player Rafinha underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right knee to resolve an injury to the internal meniscus. The operation was carried out by Dr.Ramon Cugat and Dr.Ricard Pruna. The player will be out for around four months."

Therefore, Rafinha will not return until August, when the team will already have been back in pre-season training for a month. Without doubt another blow to a player who has had little luck with injuries.

Don't forget that he has become a key part of Luis Enrique's side since the switch to 3-4-3 and would have featured heavily as Barça bid to win La Liga, the Copa del Rey and the Champions League.

He had made his way into the Gala XI, playing on the right of the front three, with Lionel Messi moving inside to the tip of the midfield.
