Gerard Pique is struggling with a knee injury

Vermaelen's been out with a hamstring problem

Gerard Pique and Thomas Vermaelen are still unable to train with teir Barcelona teammates. Pique has a knee problem and has been recovering away from the group, while Vermaelen has still not returned to training following a hamstring injury, RAC 1 reported.

Pique was looked over by the Barça club doctors after forcing himself through the game against Valencia, which he ended with knee pain. The centre-back is keen to continue to make himself available for Ernesto Valverde, although the coach has suggested a rest could be best.

Meanwhile, Vermaelen, who should have been back based on the club's estimate of his injury, seems to be struggling to regain his fitness.

Therefore, with Samuel Umtiti suspended, Yerry Mina is in line to start against Getafe on Sunday. Lucas Digne could partner him, or Barça B defender David Costas, although he did not train with the first team on Friday.
