Alemany is currently negotiating his departure from Valencia but could be offered a chance to remain in LaLiga

Mateu Alemany, who was named as the general director at Valencia in 2017, is on the brink of leaving the club after falling out with owner Peter Lim. According to RAC1, Alemany might end up staying in LaLiga after all - and join FC Barcelona.

Alemany's role at Valencia has been called into question ever since Marcelino Garcia Toral was sacked by the club earlier this season. However, his existing deal includes a clause which prevents him from joining another side in LaLiga. Alemany wants that clause removed, with his release, so he's able to sign for Barça instead.

This new role would see Alemany occupy a similar one to that of Raul Sanllehi. He'd have a more active role in the signing and negotiating of players rather than simply being a standard director of football.
