Rabiot situation has become a ticking time bomb at 'split' PSG

The club have different ideas on how to deal with the midfielder

Adrien Rabiot has provoked a split at Paris Saint-Germain. The midfielder has refused to renew his deal and that's led the club's hierarchy to remove him from first team duty. It's a decision which neither the player nor his coach, Thomas Tuchel, like. Tuchel is ready to call him back into the first team.

Antero Henrique, PSG's sporting director, is the man who's adopted the most radical posture. He doesn't want to see Rabiot in the club's colours again if he won't extend his deal. Rabiot has not played for the French club since Dec. 11.

Tuchel has accepted the decision but has always made it clear he has nothing to do with it. It was imposed on him. That is in contrast to Henrique, who has revealed the difference of opinion between the two in handling the case. It wouldn't be strange if Tuchel ends up incorporating Rabiot again if he doesn't leave the club before the end of the month.

In fact, the PSG boss had already announced he was taking Rabiot to Qatar for the club's mini tour. However, the midfielder had to drop out at the last minute due to a family issue.

But L'Equipe have revealed that Rabiot was not informed until just a few hours before the plane left for Doha. It's a sign of the Henrique's handywork against Rabiot, totally contrasting with Tuchel.

The Rabiot situation, then, has become a genuine ticking time bomb at PSG's HQ, where they are trying to move the player on in January so that there's no tension between now and the end of the season, when the Frenchman can walk away for free as his deal expires.
