The ex-defender also spoke about Ousmane Dembele

Former Barcelona captain Carles Puyol has spoken about Barcelona following a padel tournament in Monday which saw him pair up with ex-Blaugrana president Joan Laporta.

Regarding a possible signing of Neymar, Puyol says what happened two years ago when he left the club should be forgotten about.

"All players, when they take a decision, believe it's for the best," he said. "When they take it, they're convinced in it. Neymar is a great player who can make a difference. He's not been able to play his best football (in Paris) because of injuries, but he still has a lot to give to football."

Another possible arrival at Camp Nou this summer is Antoine Griezmann. Puyol says if he joins the fans "will be with him" and "as soon as he scored a goal, everyone is going to love him," despite the fact he turned down a move to Camp Nou last summer.

He also feels the two are compatible with Lionel Messi and Co: "The great players are compatible but you always have to find the balance and that's the manager's job. The season is long, there are a lot of games, injuries, so the more players the better the squad and the easier the results come."

On Ousmane Dembele, he added: "He is one of the most talented players in the world if he is focused and injuries respect him. When you are young, you don't realise, but if he's back in training a week early he wants to say that he's trying to improve and that's great because he makes the difference."
