Prepared for the Spanish Super Cup, despite Storm Filomena

All four teams have set their plans for the tournament this week

The first title of the season arrives with uncertainty in the air because of Storm Filomena, but it seems bad weather won’t affect Andalusia for the Final Four of the Spanish Super Cup.

The games are behind closed doors regardless for the coronavirus pandemic. Real Madrid have had to head directly from Pamplona where they drew with Osasuna on Saturday, travelling straight to Malaga on Monday without going home or passing Go. They face Athletic Club on Thursday at La Rosaleda.

First is Barca v Real Sociedad in Cordoba on Wednesday, 9pm, at the Nuevo Arcangel. The Blaugrana head south on Tuesday to prepare for the game.

Real Sociedad will also travel that day after resting on Monday. They will train at the stadium in Cordoba at 8pm on Tuesday.

The final takes place on Sunday 17, at La Cartuja in Seville, at 9pm. If Barca are in the final, they are planning to go home then fly back to Seville on Saturday.

Real Sociedad arrive at the worst moment of their season, form wise. They were fantastic at the start but have dropped to fifth and are in the lowest position so far this season. Their dynamic is not good with one win in five games, and a draw. Barca, by contrast, are in form.
