Premier League side Leicester pushing hard for Barça's Coutinho
Brendan Rodgers worked with him at Liverpool and wants to bring him in on loan
Barcelona don't feel they will have any problems finding a new club for Philippe Coutinho in the summer. The Brazilian still has a great reputation in the Premier League and will have his pick of clubs.
Everything suggested Chelsea would lead the way but Leicester City are pushing hard. And they have the budget. They are hopeful of returning to the Champions League next season and want to make a big statement signing to kick on if they do.
Coutinho's a player they like a lot and they believe they have an ace up their sleeve. Coach Brendan Rogers worked with the Brazilian at Liverpool and is the driving force behind the move.
The British coach has a good relationship with Coutinho and got the best out of him at Anfield before Jurgen Klopp arrived.
As well as placing third in the Premier League at the moment, which would bring Champions League football back to the King Power, the club's owners are also wealthy.
Leicester fear one of their star players, the advanced midfielder James Maddison, could leave this summer. Manchester United have been linked with an offer of around 90 million euros for the England international.
Rodgers knows he could be left without one of his most efficient players in the final third and believes Coutinho could be the perfect solution.
Other clubs have sounded out the situation and the deal would be the following: a loan with an option to buy. The initial investment would be around 30 million euros, including the player's salary.
Reports in England say Liverpool are also thinking about making a move to take him back to Anfield. Tottenham and Arsenal have also been linked, while Chelsea were thought to be the favourties.
