Pique: PSG comeback was most important win of my career
Gerard Pique looks back fondly on Barcelona's famous 6-1 win
Barça lost the first leg 4-0 but won 6-1 at Camp Nou to progress
Barcelona defender Gerard Pique has been remembering the historic comeback against Paris Saint-Germain in an interview with Le Parisien. The Catalan says it's the most important win of his sporting career.
"It's the most important win of my career," Pique said. "Titles are obviously the best moment. But, apart from that, I think the comeback against PSG is the most important of my career. It was one of the happiest nights I've had. It's a significant win. To win 6-1 and qualify... The atmosphere was incredible. The fans believed and helped us achieve it.
"If we managed it it's because we believed it was possible. We knew it was difficult, but we had to play the perfect game. When we were 3-0 up, we were close to the feat. But with the goal [from Edinson Cavani], eveything became complicated... Nobody believed that in the little team we had left we would then achieve it, but in the end we did it!"
